Especially in autumn, many have dry scalps. That’s why I have a new beauty know-how article for you today with exactly this topic!

A few years ago, I struggled with it myself. Fortunately, I don’t have any major problems today. However, dry scalp can be quite annoying. That’s why I’m dedicating a beauty know-how article to the topic today.

When the heating and hat time starts again, then you might be happy about these tips against the dry scalp.

Beauty know-how: dry scalp? Here are my tips!
# 1 WASH YOUR HAIR PROPERLY

1 WASH YOUR HAIR PROPERLY 300x200
If your scalp is dry, it is important that you do not wash your hair too often or too hot. Daily washing or too hot water draws moisture from the scalp and the lipids that protect it. I know: A really hot shower in autumn can be wonderful, but when washing your hair, it’s better to keep it lukewarm. This keeps your scalp in balance.

# 2 DON’T BLOW DRY TOO HOT

2 DONT BLOW DRY TOO HOT 300x200
Here I have to remind myself of it again and again. When it has to go quickly, I like to turn the hairdryer on and just blow over my head and all over the place. Blowing the hot air directly onto the scalp is of course not good for the scalp at all. Especially when it comes to a dry scalp. It’s better to blow-dry with a brush and not direct the blow-dryer air directly onto the scalp. Even if you first put on a towel turban (for example, while applying lotion), it can help that the hair is a bit drier and does not have to be blow-dried for so long and hot.

Most hair dryers now also have a temperature control function that can be switched on so that the blow dryer air does not get too hot and damage the scalp and hair too much.

# 3 HOME REMEDIES: NATURAL OILS FOR DRY SCALP

3 HOME REMEDIES NATURAL OILS FOR DRY SCALP 300x200
Natural oils are used as home remedies for dry scalp. For example olive oil, argan oil or coconut oil. I have already tried coconut oil, let it work gently on the scalp and then washed it out with a mild shampoo.

# 4 USE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS

4 USE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS 300x300

Be careful when looking for the right shampoo for your scalp. Often, even with a dry scalp, you have small flakes and automatically use the anti-dandruff shampoo. But you have to be careful here. Because dandruff can have different causes, and with one or the other anti-dandruff shampoo, you irritate your dry scalp even more.

It is better to pay attention to keywords such as mild, moisturizing or sensitive scalp when it comes to the shampoo search.

Aveda also has great products that have been specially developed for the scalp. I have already had good experiences with Aveda Scalp Remedy *. There is also the Scalp Benefits Shampoo. Wella Professionals also have good scalp balance products that soothe the scalp. The mask is great for sensitive scalps *. L’Oréal Professional has the Sensi Balance Shampoo *, which protects the scalp from drying out.

However, if your scalp itches or flakes for a long time despite the tips and causes you problems, then you should definitely visit the dermatologist! When I had serious problems with my scalp at the time, my dermatologist prescribed a scalp elixir that was made in the pharmacy and that I used regularly. So don’t be afraid to see a doctor.
