The Fitbit Inspire 2 is the newest entry-level Fitbit watch, released along with the comparatively inexpensive $ 229 Fitbit Sense smartwatch and $ 330 Fitbit Edge smartwatch. As a basic activity monitor, the Inspire 2 does not support many other apps, but it actually tracks your basic heart rate. You can set up the watch to analyze your cardio details automatically, so you know how much you’re burning and how to maximize your effort in staying fit. The watch measures your heart rate during your workout and sends the information to your smartphone through Bluetooth. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can also view your heart rate stats on your wrist using the Nike Fuel app. While the accuracy of these apps isn’t as great as those offered by other companies, you can still get a basic idea of your target zone and calories burned through these apps.
The Fitbit Inspire 2 offers basic support for several popular apps, including Map Quest and Yelp. I don’t have a lot of issues with the functionality of these apps, and I think they’re great additions for anyone who wants to track their own fitness in a more visually oriented manner. I just wish there was a more complete fitness tracker app available at this price point. The fact that the Fitbit Inspire 2 only has a few features compared to the hundreds available from Fitbit itself makes it less useful for a wide variety of people. Even though I think most people would be happy with the Fitbit Force and AccuTrigrip fitness trackers, I’m not sure if it’s worth the price to pay for an additional dozen or so apps that aren’t even useful for most people.
For those who are interested in fitness tracking in a more comprehensive manner, the Fitbit Inspire 2 can’t be beat as far as features go. It comes with a built-in GPS system, which can tell you the exact mile splits and the distance to your next activity location. It also has a heart rate monitor included, which is a nice touch if you want to get a better idea of your heart rate throughout your workout.
I don’t really see any issues with the Fitbit Inspire 2’s GPS feature, since most high quality smartwatches have some sort of internal GPS anyways. My only real concern is that the GPS on the Inspire 2 isn’t always accurate, and I’ve gotten several incorrect readings while using the activity band. That being said, I’ve only used the fitness tracking features of the Fitbit Inspire 2 during workouts, and in those instances, I’ve been able to get pretty accurate readings.
The heart rate monitor on the Fitbit Inspire 2 is also excellent. As a long-time runner, I know how important it is to keep track of my pulse rate throughout the entire workout. The Fitbit Inspire 2 offers a manual heart rate measurement in either an analog or digital format, which is great because you can keep it right on your chest. This is also an excellent feature for anyone who’s exercising without the ability to stop by a catered room, such as me! The Fitbit Inspire 2 allows you to view your metrics in distance, time, pace, heart rate, speed, and other metrics, which are a very helpful feature for runners or any type of athlete.
The way that the Fitbit Inspire 2 updates your stats is simple: it uses your wrist band to determine the correct distance, time, pace, or other metrics. Like the Nike Fuel Mobile app for iPhone, the fitbit inspire 2 lets you customize which screen you’re on (if you have one) so you always know exactly what you’re working out with. It’s easy to use and highly functional, and I really enjoy the simplicity of not having to constantly take my phone out of my pocket or holster.
The Fitbit Inspire 2 has a nice touch screen and is easy to navigate. My only minor complaint is that the actual watch face isn’t particularly big or bright, so I would occasionally get mixed up on the display when I was concentrating on viewing other metrics. Other than those two minor points, however, the fitbit inspire 2 review is a positive one. It’s a great piece of technology for providing all of your workout data in one place and making it easily accessible. You can input your metrics from any location, whether it’s at home at work or even while walking your dog and quickly see your results. Also, if you’ve got an HRM system, you’ll be able to view your metrics on your Fitbit HRM screen, which can save you a bunch of time since most of the time I’m just trying to look at my shoe stats.
The Fitbit Inspire 2 keeps track of your progress with distance, calories burned, speed, heart rate, and even your indoor and outdoor speed and heart rate zone. There are tons of different metrics to track, so it’s really important that you’re able to see your progress in real time. I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do to get closer to my goal. Sometimes I’ll need to add some training sessions or some additional motivation, but other than that, I feel pretty good about my workout abilities. If you’re looking for a simple, easy to use, and very accurate fitness device that will give you the support you need to succeed, then I recommend checking out the Fitbit Inspire 2.
